What is Selling Services on Amazon?

Selling Services on Amazon allows top pros like you to offer your services on Amazon Home Services. Millions of people shop on Amazon and many of them are right in your neighborhood. With Selling Services on Amazon, we provide actual orders and easy-to-use tools, so you can focus on what you do best—delighting customers.

What are pre-packaged services?

We’ve created pre-packaged services based on common customer requests. You can choose to offer these services and set your own prices. You can even specify exact zip codes in which you offer these services.

What are custom services?

Custom services allow customers to submit their own customized requests, including videos and photos, for you to bid on individually. When you receive a custom request, you can communicate directly with the customer to ask questions in order to provide an accurate estimate.

What is the difference between pre-packaged and custom?

Pre-packaged services have pre-defined scopes of work and tend to be jobs that don’t have much variability. Custom requests require estimates and are generally larger projects or jobs with more variability.

How will customers find me and book my services?

Amazon customers can find services by searching Amazon.com—visit the Amazon Home Services storefront to see how the services are displayed. Many services are displayed along with products on Amazon so customers can choose to also buy the service when buying related products. For instance, a customer buying a garbage disposal on Amazon.com will be prompted asking if they’d also like to have it professionally installed. Customers can also view your business profile page to learn more about your business.

Can I specify specific areas where I offer my services?

Yes. You can select areas down to the zip code level to precisely define your coverage areas.

How much will it cost me?

Amazon collects a percentage of each completed service price, which varies depending on the type of service and size of the project. For full details, please scroll up this page to view the pricing section.

When I sign up, am I locked in for a certain period of time?

There is no set time commitment to sell your services. You can walk away at any time.

How do I get jobs?

Pros can get new jobs in two different ways:

Offer-Based Jobs: These jobs are purchased by Customers on Amazon by selecting a specific Pro and submitting three (3) appointment preferences. For these jobs, Pros set the price estimate upfront. Pros receive these jobs via email and work with the Customer to confirm a final appointment day and time.

Claim-based Jobs: These jobs are purchased by Customers on Amazon but Customers do no not select a specific Pro. Instead, Amazon surfaces a single price using localized price estimates based on the range of competitive prices that providers offer for each service and collects a single appointment preference from the Customer. These jobs are then sent to all the Pros offering that service within the Customers ZIP code. Pros receive these jobs via notifications through the Selling Services on Amazon app or the Seller Central home page.

Note: Claim-based jobs are only available for Assembly, Electrical, Garage Door, Handyman, Home Security, Home Theater, HVAC, Plumbing and Pressure Washing services.

How do I get paid?

Amazon deposits payments into your bank account at regular intervals and notifies you that your payment has been sent. You must have valid bank account information in your seller account before you can be paid.

How do I qualify to sell services on Amazon?

Sellers must apply to sell services on Amazon and must meet the requirements listed below before they can apply. For additional information and program requirements, please see the Selling Services Terms. Amazon limits the addition of new sellers in the Selling Services program to ensure customers are able to buy with confidence from all sellers on Amazon. Once you have reviewed the category requirements, you can Apply.

  • Application: Providers must pass our initial application process including business verification.

  • Background Checks: Providers must pass a business background check. For in-home services, individual technicians participating in the program must also pass background checks.

  • Licenses and Authorizations: Providers must have appropriate business licenses and authorizations to perform the services they offer on Amazon. For more information about license requirements, see Selling Services Terms.

  • Insurance: Providers are required to carry certain insurance coverage limits. For more information about insurance requirements, see Selling Services Terms.

If you believe you meet the requirements listed above, please Apply.

[ Best Practices to Make Success ]

1. Enable Push Notifications for the Selling Services on Amazon App: We send you real-time notifications for new jobs so it's important to ensure you have push notifications turned on for the Selling Services on Amazon app. Click here for instructions to turn on notifications.

2. Refresh on how claim-based jobs work: watch these one-minute videos to learn:

3. Only claim jobs that align with your schedule and services: Check your schedule before claiming any job. You have a 45-minute claim window to decide if you want the job. Rescheduling results in poor customer experience and will negatively impact your service level metrics. Review job details thoroughly as the price can only be modified if the customer requests changes to the scope of work. If there’s a product attached to the job, review the product details and confirm if you can fulfill the job at the listed price. Cancelling a claimed job is a violation of the Selling Services on Amazon Policy.

4. Provide the best customer experience:

  • Be responsive. Let the customer know when you will be arriving on the day of the appointment.

  • Show up on-time (not early or late).

  • Arrive with the right tools.

  • Agree on scope and price adjustments prior to starting work.

  • Ensure the job is fully complete (including cleanup).

5. Closely monitor incoming contacts: please closely monitor contacts from Amazon Home Services. The easier it is for us to reach you, the more likely you could win additional jobs.
